Griff Richards has thirty years experience building systems to assess and enhance human performance. Much of that time was spent in R & D of interactive computer, video and simulation systems (NRCC, CFTS, CAE, ACCESS Network, BCIT), managing courseware production facilities (Westerra Institute and JIBC) and implementing e-learning.
After eight years developing e-learning research programs at TechBC, Simon Fraser University Surrey, and BC’s Francophone Education Authority, he has recently been appointed Associate Professor of Distance Education and Director of the Technology Enhanced Learning Research Institute at Athabasca University. A graduate of the Banff School of Advanced Management, Griff takes his change agentry seriously - Ed Tech is a pragmatic set of tools and methods to help individuals and organizations attain their goals. He has been teaching Instructional Design in Athabasca University’s Master of Distance Education program since 2000. Originally from Edmonton, he winters near White Rock and summers in the Shuswap.
