A recent regulation change has made e-portfolios an official part of the M.Ed. (Distance Education) program.
Beginning this fall, students in the course-based route will develop an e-portfolio during their coursework and present selections from their e-portfolio as a final, capstone activity for their Master’s program.
Current students in the M. Ed. program, who have completed or are in the process of completing their last semester of coursework, should contact their faculty advisor about whether they should choose to do a comprehensive exam or work on building an e-portfolio as their capstone experience in the program.
Students will build and annotate their e-portfolios throughout the M. Ed. Program as they progress through each course. At the end of the program, they will create a capstone e-portfolio to show how they have achieved the core competencies of the M. Ed. program and learning involved.
The website, Developing Your e-Portfolio, will be used to support students in this work. Monthly e-Portfolio Orientation and Development sessions using the Adobe Connect web conferencing application will be held on the first Monday of each month from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm Mountain time.
