Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Instructional Design

The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Instructional Design is a 9-credit program, comprised of three (3) courses. For those wanting to enhance their instructional design expertise, the Post-Baccalaureate program is an expedient way to obtain the appropriate skills and knowledge. This program is intended for practioners who are interested in issues related to: 

  • systems analysis in distance education related settings
  • application of learning theory to instructional design
  • application of current instructional design frameworks to distance education and the development of instructional materials in a project-based setting
  • application of program evaluation concepts in distance education
  • MDDE 603: Foundations of Instructional Design: Systems Analysis and Learning Theory
  • MDDE 604: Instructional Design in Distance Education *pre-requisite: MDDE 603
  • MDDE 617: Program Evaluation in Distance Education


The PBCID consists of three courses (9 credits) and should be completed within two years.
