The following ratings of video (webcam) software and services apply the criteria and definitions used in the site's Internet Audio section.

Clarity: is based on pixelation, using a 5-point scale in which 1 = barely visible, 3 = standard, and 5 = DVD quality;
Synchronization: relates to the synchronisation of the video and audio elements, using a 5-point scale in which 1 = major video delay (2+ seconds), 3 = acceptable minor delay, and 5 = TV/DVD quality;
Screen Size Scalable: refers to the ability to increase/ decrease the screen size for an appreciable effect on performance.

The products reviewed in this section are all freeware.
