Admission Requirements

Applicants for the Master of Education and Graduate Certificate & Diplomas programs must hold a baccalaureate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution. If the potential applicant does not have a degree, but believes his or her education and experience is equivalent to an undergraduate degree, then it is the responsibility of the applicant to put forward this position in writing as part of the application process. As an open university, we are committed to flexibilty and accessibility. Students have several options to gain experience and confidence with online graduate studies.

Doctoral degrees require a master's degree for admission.

Apply to a Graduate Program

  • For specific admission requirements, fees and procedures for programs administered through the Distance Education department, visit the Graduate Calendar and use the main Navigation Menu to select the program you are interested in.
  • To begin your online application for a graduate program, visit the Office of the Registrar's Graduate Studies Application page. If you have an AU Student ID, please login before completing the online application form. Supporting documentation must be provided separately.
